Biography

Samantha Bristow has danced featured roles in Tomasson’s Giselle (Giselle’s Friends), Nutcracker (Spanish and French), Romeo & Juliet (Juliet’s Friends), and Swan Lake (Aristocrats); Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote (Bridesmaids); and Balanchine’s Coppélia (Swanilda’s Friends and Brides). She created corps de ballet roles in King’s The Collective Agreement and Thatcher’s Otherness.

Her repertory includes Balanchine’s Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet (3rd movement), Diamonds, Rubies, Serenade, and Stravinsky Violin Concerto; Makarova’s (after Petipa) “The Kingdom of the Shades” from La Bayadère, Act II; Peck’s In the Countenance of Kings; Possokhov’s Swimmer; Robbins’ Glass Pieces; Tomasson’s Haffner Symphony, On a Theme of Paganini, Prism, and The Sleeping Beauty (Little Lilacs, Garland Dance, Nymphs, and Polonaise); Scarlett’s Frankenstein; and Wheeldon’s Cinderella (Spring corps and Courtiers).
