Joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in 2017
Gabriela Gonzalez created roles in Marston’s Snowblind, Peck’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming (principal couples), and Pita’s Björk Ballet. She danced featured roles in Tomasson’s Nutcracker (Spanish, Arabian, French) and Caniparoli’s Ibsen’s House (Ellida Wangel in “Lady from the Sea”). Her repertory includes Balanchine’s Serenade; Robbins’ The Cage; Scarlett’s Frankenstein; and Tomasson’s The Sleeping Beauty (Garland Dance, Ladies of the Court, Nymphs, and Polonaise).
Before joining the Company, Gabriela danced featured roles in Balanchine’s Apollo (Calliope), George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® (Spanish), and Serenade (Angel); Angelini’s Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty (Puss in Boots); Cranko’s The Taming of the Shrew (pas de six); Franzutti’s Swan Lake (Big Swans), Carmen (Micaela), Edipo Re (Giocasta), Firebird (Princess Tsarevna), and Mozart (lead couple); Liang’s Romeo and Juliet (Lead Harlot); Bruce’s Rooster (“Ruby Tuesday” solo and “Lady Jane” woman); Cerrudo’s Second to Last (lead); Cong’s Blue Flame (1st pas de deux), Flight of Fancy (lead couple), and Uniko (“Warhorse” woman); Duato’s Remansos (3rd pas de deux); Forsythe’s in the middle, somewhat elevated; Page’s The Grammar of Ornament (lead couple); and Rhoden’s Ballad Unto… (lead couple).
Her repertory included Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, “Emeralds” and “Diamonds” in Jewels, Symphony in Three Movements, Swan Lake, Act 2, and La Valse; Fonte’s Bolero; Hougland’s Rite of Spring; Hue’s Contrast; McGregor’s Infra and PreSentient; and “Aurora’s Wedding” from Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty (Fairies and Mazurka).
Gabriela won the gold medal in the Professional Category at VII Concurso de la Confederación Interamericana de Profesionales de la Danza in 2010.
