Note that an audition is not guaranteed. An audition will only be granted after our ballet masters have reviewed your materials and feel that you may be an appropriate candidate.

SF Ballet is a professional classical ballet company with a guaranteed minimum 42-week per year AGMA contract. A limited number of apprenticeships are available each contract year, mainly offered to students from San Francisco Ballet School’s Trainee Program.


San Francisco Ballet is proud to deploy a full orchestra for every performance we stage. Join a core group of 49 regular members, augmented to 65 players for certain productions during a performance season that includes an annual production of Nutcracker and a repertory season from winter through spring.

2019-20 Minimum Compensation Guarantee for this position: $64,166, which includes Vacation Pay and EMG/Special Projects Guarantee.

Full season is December – early May.

Benefits include: 14.17% AFM-EPF pension, sick/personal leave; paid medical, dental and instrument insurance; paid parking.
