Rebecca Jackson-Picht


A native of California, from a Korean-American family background, Ms. Jackson’s playing has been hailed as “riveting” by the San Francisco Examiner.  She received her Bachelor of Music from The Juilliard School and her graduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Rebecca is founder and Artistic Director of Music in May and a founding member of Ensemble San Francisco.

In addition to performing with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, Ms. Jackson is also the Associate Concertmaster of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra, a member of the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, performs with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, and has performed with the Santa Fe Opera in their production of Salome. In 2007, she performed with Barbra Streisand at the Latin Grammy Awards.

Always looking for a good cause, Rebecca has performed in numerous benefit concerts that have raised a total exceeding $100,000. Combining her passion for music and service, she is co-founder of Sound Impact, an ensemble devoted to taking music to underserved communities such as youth in hospitals & correctional facilities.

Ms. Jackson’s latest undertaking, in collaboration with her father, is writing the authorized biography of her mentor David Arben, Holocaust survivor and former associate concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
