Biography

Annabelle Taubl joined San Francisco Ballet Orchestra as a principal harpist in December 2014.

Taubl began harp lessons at the age of 5. She made her solo debut performing Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp with Northeast Massachusetts Youth Symphony at the age of 10.  A year later, she entered the pre-college program at The Juilliard School and began to study with Nancy Allen, principal harpist of New York Philharmonic.  After graduating with honors from the pre-college program, Taubl was accepted into the 20/20 full-scholarship honors chamber music program at The Hartt School, where she continued her studies with Allen.

Taubl’s solo appearances include Tanglewood Music Center, Juilliard Pre-College Symphony, Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Pro Musica, Symphony by the Sea, Nashua Chamber Orchestra, and West Point Band. Taubl frequently performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Boston Pops.

In June 2001, she was awarded first prize in the Young Professional Division of the American Harp Society’s National Competition, which accorded her Young Concert Artist status and a two-year concert tour of the United States.  Other awards include the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Juilliard School (2004), first prize in the Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition (1999), first prize in the Prix Renie National Competition (1999), third prize in the American Harp Society’s National Competition (1999), and third prize in the Corpus Christi International Competition (2000).
