Biography

Laura Keller joined San Francisco Ballet Orchestra in 2019. A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Laura attended New England Conservatory where she studied with Miriam Fried, and went on to earn a Master in Music from Yale University, studying under the tutelage of Ani Kavafian. Her primary chamber music mentors have included Paul Katz and members of the Borromeo, Takács, and Tokyo Quartets.

Keller played her first concerto solo at age 12 with Honolulu Symphony as a winner of the HSO’s Concerto Competition. She has been featured multiple times on National Public Radio’s shows From The Top and Performance Today.

Keller has appeared in concert as a soloist and chamber musician in cities across the country. In 2013, Laura toured Beijing and Shanghai performing an original work by award-winning composer Michael-Thomas Foumai for solo violin and orchestra, commissioned for her and Punahou Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in numerous music festivals including the ENCORE School for Strings, Music@Menlo’s Young Performer and International programs, Aspen Music Festival, and Taos School of Music.

Keller is also a supernumerary with San Francisco Opera Orchestra and San Francisco Symphony.
