Michael Cox is currently second trombone for San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and principal trombone of Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra. He has previously served as the principal trombone for Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Michael has also performed with New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Michael has been a fellow of New York Philharmonic Global Academy, Tanglewood Music Festival, and Music Academy of the West. He was an associate member of Civic Orchestra of Chicago. His primary teachers include Toby Oft, Michael Mulcahy, Tim Higgins, and Douglas Wright. Michael is a proud 2012 graduate of Midwest Young Artists Conservatory.

Outside of the orchestra, Michael enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing chess.
