Over the course of 3 days in the San Francisco Ballet studios, representatives will teach classes, speak in panels, and hold one-on-one interviews with interested students. Participating schools include but are not limited to: University of Southern California Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Oklahoma University School of Dance, and TCU School for Classical & Contemporary Dance (list of schools subject to change).

2025 audition prep workshop
october 26, 2025
Experience the environment of an audition without the pressure of an outcome. The class will be taught by school director Grace Holmes and observed by school faculty Larissa Ponomarenko and Viktor Plotnikov, and there will be a 15-minute Question & Answer session immediately following the class.
Auditions are an important part of the ballet world and have their own set of associated skills. They can be scary experiences, but the stress of an audition can be lessened by becoming familiar with a facility and having an idea of what to expect. Whether or not a student is new to the experience of auditioning, they can learn skills that are applicable to summer intensive auditions, company auditions, and more!
This mock audition offers the opportunity to intermediate and advanced ballet students to:
- become familiar with the facilities at 455 Franklin St.
- attend class led by San Francisco Ballet School faculty with live accompaniment.
- experience having class with new peers.
Students will receive a number as if this were a real audition. San Francisco Ballet School faculty will sit at the front of the studio at a table as a mock panel of adjudicators. Observers are invited to attend the class and discussion.

Join us in SF Ballet’s rehearsal studios on April 28 as we journey through Helgi Tomasson’s Swan Lake in classes for both participants and observers.
