Dance. Move. Integrate. Engage.
For 40 years, San Francisco Ballet has partnered with San Francisco Unified School District to provide free dance education programs for K–12 students. SF Ballet’s current education programs for K–12 schools include in-school, before-school, and after-school dance residencies, professional development workshops for preK–12 educators, Student Matinee performances by SF Ballet dancers accompanied by the SF Ballet Orchestra, and pre-performance classroom visits through the Student Matinee Docent Program.
Student Matinees introduce school groups to the joy and wonder of ballet. An interactive program features excerpts from popular ballets, and a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to stage a performance.
SF Ballet offers several resources to help K–12 teachers, school administrators, and parents incorporate dance into the classroom. From study guides to Professional Development Workshops, we make ballet accessible.
