How Do You Make a New Ballet During COVID?
Choreographer Myles Thatcher shares the ups and downs of creating a new work for the 2021 Digital Season in our new series, From Scratch. Thatcher’s world premiere, COLORFORMS, was part of Program 02, which streamed February 11–March 3.
In this first episode, Thatcher (also a SF Ballet Soloist) works on choreography alone in the studio, consults with costume designer Susan Roemer, and delves into the challenges of the creative process.
In this second episode, Thatcher visit San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, rehearses with dancers, and consults with Costume Designer Susan Roemer.
In this third episode, go behind the scenes as COLORFORMS was filmed, and hear from SF Ballet dancers Sasha De Sola, Jasmine Jimison, and Esteban Hernandez.
