Meet the Artist: Principal Dancer Frances Chung

On the Unbound Festival and Working with Choreographers

Principal Dancer Frances Chung recounts the experience of being in London at The Royal Ballet to learn the role of Elizabeth Lavenza in Liam Scarlett’s Frankenstein. She discusses how her interpretation of the role has evolved while performing it a second time. Turning to Unbound: A Festival of New Works, she describes the process of working with choreographers with whom she has had a long relationship—Stanton Welch and Christopher Wheeldon—as well as two choreographers new to her, Alonzo King and Dwight Roden.
