*The first class of each series, April 7 and April 11 will be a 2 hour and 15-minute session, with orientation from noon–1 pm and class from 12:15 pm.

San Francisco Ballet, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, is offering dance classes specially designed for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.

Classes are taught by Cecelia Beam, Master of Science in Ballet. All classes taught to live piano accompaniment and are offered free-of-charge. Space is limited. Registration is required by April 1.

Modeled after the Dance for PD® classes developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson Group and designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and their spouses, family members, friends, and caregivers. These classes will integrate ballet, modern, folk, and improvisation to engage in an experience that will develop individual artistic expression while honoring PD-specific concerns such as balance, flexibility, coordination, isolation, and depression.
