DANCE CLASS FOR PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON’S

Inspired by San Francisco Ballet’s repertory, these free weekly classes – offered both in studio and on Zoom – support individuals with Parkinson’s and their loved ones. Rooted in the joy of movement, classes nurture connection, coordination, and creativity in a supportive environment.

FAQs

Who are these classes for?

Adults and teens over the age of 18. We offer levels starting at absolute beginner.

What should I wear?

Dress is informal, but we recommend a t-shirt, leotard or tight-fitting leggings, or shorts. Please also have your hair pulled back out of your face (ponytail, braid, bun, etc.). Ballet slippers are required for in-person classes.

Where do the classes take place?

We have online classes on Zoom and in-person classes at 455 Franklin Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.

Who teaches the classes?

SF Ballet School Faculty, including Cecelia Beam, Anne-Sophie Rodriguez, Victor Talledos, and special guests from the Company.

What if I'm not sure I can complete the class?

We encourage you to attend and complete as much of the class as you feel capable. If you need to sit out for the last combination or two, that’s fine.

Can I watch a class before taking one?

Unfortunately, we do not allow class observations. We encourage you to try it out and see if you like it. You will have a much better understanding of the class if you are up and moving, rather than sitting and watching.

What if I'm late to class?

For the safety and consideration of all, studio doors will close five minutes after class begins.
