The charismatic Carlos Miguel Prieto leads the Hollywood Bowl’s annual Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks made extra spectacular this year by the presence of the stunning dancers of San Francisco Ballet. The evening features music from Swan Lake, Symphony No.3, Capriccio Italien, and, as always, the 1812 Overture featuring the USC Marching Band and the Bowl’s signature fireworks.

San Francisco Ballet embarked on an exhilarating journey to Madrid, Spain, performing Helgi Tomasson's iconic Swan Lake at the historic Teatro Real. This tour marked SF Ballet's first-ever engagement in Madrid and first tour under Artistic Director Tamara Rojo, offering Spanish audiences a chance to witness the Company's world-renowned artistry.
SAN FRANCISCO BALLET TOURING HISTORY
San Francisco Ballet has a rich history of touring, with roots tracing back to 1938 when the company established a booking department dedicated to taking its performances beyond the Bay Area. Just two years later in 1940, SF Ballet made history by premiering the first full-length Swan Lake in the United States under the visionary direction of Willam Christensen. This landmark production not only cemented the company’s reputation for innovation, but also set the stage for decades of successful tours both nationally and internationally. As SF Ballet continues to share its artistry around the globe, the legacy of those early milestones remains a proud part of the company’s identity. - 1965 – New York City, NY – State Theater in Lincoln Center – Company’s debut in NYC.
- 1989 – Paris, France – Théâtre Champs-Elysées – SF Ballet’s Paris debut. The Company later returned to Paris to perform at the famous Opéra de Paris-Palais Garnier in 1994 and 2001.
- 1990 – Reykjavik, Iceland – City Theatre – This Iceland debut marked a homecoming for former Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson.
- 2001 – Santander and Barcelona, Spain – Santander’s Palacio de Festivales and Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu – SF Ballet’s Spain debut.
- 2002 – London, England – Royal Opera House – The Company performs at London’s Royal Opera House for the first time.
- 2009 – Shanghai and Beijing, China – Shanghai Grand Theatre and Beijing’s Poly Theatre – The Company makes its first trip to the People’s Republic of China, marking a grand homecoming for former Principal Dancer Yuan Yuan Tan.
- 2012 – Moscow, Russia – Bolshoi Theater-New Stage – Company’s debut in Russia.
- 2019 – London, England and Copenhagen, Denmark – London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre and Copenhagen’s Royal Danish Opera House.
