Program 6: Triple-Bill
Total running time: 2 hours 25 minutes, two intermissions
SF Ballet is pleased to present the world premiere of Symphonic Caprice by SF Ballet Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer Helgi Tomasson, and set to the immensely joyful Symphony No. 3 by Camille Saint-Saëns. The program continues with the 20th anniversary presentation of Maelstrom, the first work created for SF Ballet by Mark Morris. Upon its premiere, the San Francisco Bay Guardian called Maelstrom “a jewel that goes right to the core of classical European dance.” The program concludes with Yuri Possokhov’s The Rite of Spring, a gripping interpretation of Stravinsky’s masterwork, which made its premiere during the 2013 season.
