Agon is an outstanding masterpiece in the ballet canon, a meeting of the minds of perhaps the most brilliant choreographer and composer of the twentieth century. This event will focus on the “choreomusical” construction of this feverishly intricate work, the powerful modernist impulse that drives it, and the context of Balanchine’s other Stravinsky ballets.
