2016 Repertory Season Overview

Welcome to San Francisco Ballet’s 2015-16 Season!

San Francisco Ballet, the oldest professional ballet company in America, has announced its 2015-16 Season. The season will run December 16 to May 8, 2016.

Highlights of the 2015-16 Season include:

  • Helgi Tomasson’s Swan Lake, a fresh take on one of the best-loved ballets of all time
  • George Balanchine’s Coppélia, an enchanting ballet for the entire family
  • John Cranko’s daring and dramatic Onegin
  • The North American premiere of William Forsythe’s Pas/Parts—a dazzling display of technique for 15 dancers
  • The SF Ballet debut of Alexei Ratmansky’s sublime Seven Sonatas
  • The return of Yuri Possokhov’s most recent SF Ballet commission, Swimmer, one of the highlights of the 2015 Season, along with his popular Magrittomania, an homage to the surrealist painter which premiered in 2000.
  • Audience favorites by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and Mark Morris
  • World premieres by Liam Scarlett, who created Hummingbird for SF Ballet in 2014, and New York City Ballet’s Resident Choreographer, Justin Peck
  • Plus, our annual presentation of Nutcracker, San Francisco’s best loved holiday tradition since 1944

SF Ballet is currently only renewing 2015 Principal Package subscribers for next season.
