School Year Program

Forging the Future of Ballet

San Francisco Ballet School trains students ages 8–18 through eight progressive levels, from foundational technique to pre-professional preparation. Each year, more than 300 students from across the U.S. and around the world join a program that blends classical rigor with modern artistry.

Classes follow a structured path that builds stamina, strength, and expression. Along the way, students study technique, pointe work, pas de deux, men’s training, contemporary and character dance, conditioning, and music. As they advance, training intensifies, preparing dancers for the demands of a professional career.

Faculty members bring experience from the world’s leading companies, including San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, and English National Ballet.
