Offering developmental opportunities for artists through LEADING-EDGE initiatives

San Francisco Ballet is committed to being at the forefront of our industry and its evolution. One way we are achieving this objective is by creating opportunities for artists and our company dancers to be mentored and nurtured, through leading-edge developmental initiatives.

Devised and directed by Artistic Director Tamara Rojo and Kerry Nicholls, Program Lead for Raising Leaders and Creative Coach for Creation House, these programs reflect our expanded dedication to holistically support the careers of dancers within the School and the Company.

Through this work, we aim to provide inspiration, support, and development, and bring artists together to reach their full potential.

Denis de Coteau Fellowship

The Denis de Coteau Fellowship, named in honor of San Francisco Ballet’s trailblazing former music director, supports two students from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music each fall with funding, mentorship, and performance opportunities. This partnership aims to honor de Coteau’s legacy and help foster a more diverse and inclusive future in orchestral music.
