Foundation Giving

Share your good fortune with a leader in the civic life of the city.

San Francisco Ballet exists to share the joy of dance with the widest possible audience and to train the next generation of professional dancers. We believe in the power of creative expression—in art that inspires, that connects us, makes us more tolerant, and strengthens our communities. We share a responsibility for making dance accessible and for ensuring the vitality and the future of the art form. Giving from private, family, and community foundations helps us commission new works; design and build sets and costumes; take the Company on tour; and engage our communities.

“San Francisco Ballet is an innovator in the ballet community, regularly commissioning new works from the rising stars of choreography. We want to make sure that the Ballet will be able to continue to advance the art form and are pleased to have The Bernard Osher Foundation establish an endowed fund for new work.”

Mary G. F. Bitterman, President of the Bernard Osher Foundation
