Education Programs

Support SF Ballet’s wide variety of education programs that provide free dance education to over 24,000 community members across the Bay Area. Corporate contributions go toward our Annual Fund and receive customized benefits based on gift amount.

Featured SF Ballet Education Programs include:

  • Dance in Schools and Communities (DISC)
    • DISC provides a free interactive movement program to over 3,500 students in 38 San Francisco Unified School District Elementary Schools. Approximately 70 percent of DISC students are from non-white populations.
  • Dance classes for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease
    • San Francisco Ballet, in partnership with Kaiser Permanente, is offering dance classes specially designed for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. These classes integrate ballet, modern, folk, and improvisation to engage in an experience that develops individual artistic expression while honoring PD-specific concerns such as balance, flexibility, coordination, isolation, and depression.
  • Partnership with Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco (BGCSF)
    • San Francisco Ballet partners with BGCSF to provide free ballet classes throughout the year, as well as the free week-long Summer Dance Camp at SF Ballet’s studios.
  • Student Matinees
    • Student Matinees provide an engaging introduction to classical and contemporary ballet along with a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to stage a ballet performance. These special performances are free for DISC students and $10 for all others.
