2026 San Francisco Ballet School Spring Festival
Witness the future of dance at the Opera House
Friday, May 8, 2026 | Saturday, May 9, 2026
War Memorial Opera House
After the tremendous success of last year’s event, the San Francisco Ballet School Spring Festival will return to the War Memorial Opera House this spring for two nights of remarkable performances. The students, accompanied by the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, will perform works that demonstrate their range and talent, including the San Francisco premiere of School alumna and SF Ballet Creation House Associate Choreographer Myles Thatcher’s newest work Mayfly.
Two days of celebrations are planned around the gala-style performances on May 8 and 9, along with returning favorites and new opportunities to engage.
- Festival Fundraising Dinner: The annual dinner will again be held in the grand lobby of the Opera House following the Saturday, May 9 matinee. A new addition to the three-course seated dinner this year will be an onstage reception for dinner guests. For younger guests who do not wish to join in the reception, there will be a dedicated lounge with snacks, crafts, and more.
- Festival Family Dinner: New this year will be a special buffet dinner, available for purchase by School families to celebrate the end of the School year with their performers and friends. This buffet-style dinner will take place on the Loggia and the Grand Tier level of the Opera House.
- NEW! Pre-Festival Performance Parties for Pre-Ballet Families: Building on the popularity of last year’s pre-performance celebration for San Francisco Ballet School Pre-Ballet families, we will introduce a second opportunity to come together before the performance and enjoy light bites and a mini-dance-along with School faculty. The event on Friday evening is geared toward students in Pre-Ballet 1 & 2 (ages 6–8), and the event on Saturday afternoon will be for students in Creative Movement and Creative Dance 1 & 2 (ages 3–5).
