Julia Kaufman

Julia Kaufman was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she began ballet and piano training at age 4 and continued at the Institute of Arts in Tomsk, Russia, where she studied ballet, character dance, and piano as her instrument of choice. Then, Ms. Julia graduated from Tomsk Academy of Music with a degree as a piano teacher and voice accompanist. After moving to the United States, Julia worked as a ballet pianist for Phoenix Ballet school and company classes. In 2004, Julia graduated from SFSU with a Bachelor’s in Music under Professor William Corbett. She began working for various San Francisco-based ballet companies and programs, including Lines Ballet, CCSF, Dominican University Ballet program, ODC, and City Ballet, as well as teaching piano at San Francisco public and private schools through MTAC. In 2015, Julia became a part-time pianist at San Francisco Ballet School till present.
