Jamie Narushchen

Biography

Jamie Narushchen is the School Pianist Supervisor and the Lee R. Crews Endowed Pianist at San Francisco Ballet School, where he has worked since 1987. A native of Minneapolis, Jamie began his piano studies at the age of six under his grandmother’s guidance. He studied piano performance at the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University and later studied composition with Elinor Armer at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Jamie oversees the team of pianists who provide live accompaniment for more than 130 ballet classes each week. He also leads a workshop for ballet accompanists, sharing his expertise in improvisation and the unique art of supporting dancers through live music.
