Galina Umanskaya

Biography

Galina Umanskaya is a pianist and accompanist with over 20 years of experience in ballet, opera, and chamber music. Trained at the State Conservatory in Ufa, Russia, where she earned a Master of Music in Performance and Education, she began her career as a teacher and accompanist at the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ufa.

Since moving to the United States, she has worked extensively with Bay Area institutions, including San Francisco Ballet School, Berkeley Ballet Theater, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, and Oberlin Dance Collective. In addition to her work with professional dancers, she has taught piano and voice to students of all ages, developing curriculum for gifted children and preparing students for competitions and advanced study.
