Diane Mateo

Biography

Diane Mateo is a seasoned movement specialist, excelling in Pilates, Gyrotonic®, ballet, and yoga instruction. With a professional dance background and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College, she brings over twenty years of expertise to her teaching. Diane’s career includes roles such as Gyrotonic® Instructor and Pilates Instructor at Kinesphere AZ, where she tailored programs for clients and led both private and group sessions. Certified in yoga under Erich Schiffmann, she integrates holistic practices into her teaching, fostering deep mind-body connections.

Diane’s teaching journey has taken her to renowned institutions like Ballet Arizona and The Marin Ballet, where she instructed ballet and yoga across diverse age groups and skill levels. Until recently, Diane enriched the Arizona dance community as a bilingual faculty member at the School of Ballet Arizona and a Teaching Artist for Ballet Arizona. She inspires both children and adults through programs such as the Children’s Division, Creative Aging, DanceAZ, and Open Ballet Adult Classes.

Now based in the Bay Area, Diane is thrilled to have joined the faculty at San Francisco Ballet School, where she continues her work with young dancers and adults in both ballet and yoga.
