An Invitation to Dance: San Francisco Ballet School

2018 Student Showcase

The San Francisco Ballet School Student Showcase demonstrates the School’s remarkable accomplishments throughout the year and gives audiences the rare opportunity to experience a performance by the next generation of ballet professionals.

Our 2018 Student Showcase performances will feature a short demonstration by students in Levels 2–8 choreographed by Karen Gabay. Over the course of the three nights of performances, SF Ballet upper-level students and Trainees will perform Helgi Tomasson’s Blue Rose and new works choreographed by SF Ballet dancers James Sofranko and Blake Johnston. SF Ballet School will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of Student Showcase with a performance of George Balanchine’s rousing Stars and Stripes, set to the music of John Philip Sousa.

NOTE: Student Showcase performances are held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater, at 700 Howard St.

An Invitation to Dance: SF Ballet School 2018 Student Showcase Performance and Dinner

On Wednesday, May 23, please join SF Ballet School for our annual fundraising dinner following the opening night performance. Proceeds from this event will support the $1 million in scholarships and financial aid that the School distributes each year so talented students, regardless of family circumstances, can have a chance to study dance.
