When you are ready to take the next step in your dance career, step up to Summer Session at SF Ballet School. We’ll challenge you with a demanding program of dance training that will bring out all you have to offer.

Summer Session provides a deep dive into ballet technique as they prepare you for a career as a professional ballet dancer. Programs are designed to address the individual technical and artistic needs of intermediate and advanced/pre-professional students.

Program 1

Intermediate Students

Designed to provide intermediate students with a deeper understanding of ballet as an art form, this three-week program focuses on improving skills and strength. The curriculum includes technique, pointe, batterie, and pas de deux classes. Additional classes may include repertoire, character dance, pantomime, and conditioning.

Program 2

Advanced/Pre-Professional Students

This four-week program dedicated to advanced and pre-professional students is designed to explore the demands of a professional career. You’ll be introduced to the unique repertory of San Francisco Ballet while studying technique, pointe, pas de deux, batterie and repertoire, and may include additional classes such as contemporary dance, acting, and conditioning. In all, you can expect to take a minimum of 15 classes each week, so come ready to work.

Scholarships & Financial Aid

Need-based financial aid is available to Level 1-8 students participating in the year-round program and all students participating in the Summer Session programs. Merit‑based scholarships are offered to upper-level students selected by our Associate Director. Please contact the School for more information.

SUMMER BALLET CAMP AND CLASSES

San Francisco Ballet School is expanding its summer programming, offering Summer Ballet Camp and classes in July in the Richmond district studio of Tilly Abbe. On offer are daily pre-ballet classes for children ages 4–7 as well as four different one-week ballet camps for children ages 8–11 who have some ballet experience, although no audition is required.
