STERN GROVE FESTIVAL KIDS DAYS & KIDSTAGE

Two cultural icons in collaboration

San Francisco Ballet and Stern Grove Festival share a rich history and offer San Franciscans one of their favorite summer experiences: the alfresco performance of our Company and Orchestra at Sigmund Stern Grove. This tradition, started in 1943, continues annually. The protected performance space, set among towering eucalyptus and redwood trees, provides audiences with an acoustically and visually arresting afternoon of music and dance.

FOR YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND LIFELONG LEARNERS

Annually, SF Ballet also collaborates with the Stern Grove Festival Education & Outreach team to provide youth opportunities to learn world dance and music. Children and youth can participate in Kids Days, a weekday dance experience in the Grove for 4–11-year-olds and KidStage, a family-friendly dance workshop held adjacent to the Stern Grove Festival stage on the morning of our performance.

Adults can enjoy our Artist Talks, pre-performance meet-the-artist interviews in the historic Trocadero Clubhouse in the Grove at the Festival. All workshops and talks are free, but space is limited, and some require advance registration.

Programs are on pause for Summer 2023. Please check back in spring 2024.
