Friday, Sept 11, 2:30–3:30PM Fountain Plaza
San Francisco Ballet School faculty member Cecelia Beam, pianist Billy Wolfe and company soloist Julia Rowe have collaborated to bring an adaptive version of the 1894 Petipa Ballet The Awakening of Flora to Flower Piano. Join participants from SF Ballet School’s Dance Classes for People with Parkinson’s on a musical and movement adventure with a bevy of nymphs, gods and goddesses. Audiences of all abilities are invited to dance ballet inspired movements to the music of Riccardo Drigo. SF Ballet School offers free weekly Parkinson’s and Older Adult dance classes, serving hundreds of Bay Area community members, their families, and care teams.

Join SF Ballet School for an interactive, family-friendly program for all ages and abilities. Featuring SF Ballet School faculty member Phoenicia Pettyjohn and pianist Danny Sullivan. Audiences are invited to dance in their seats and twirl to the beat during this dance-along ballet extravaganza. Showcasing the music of ballet’s fantastic creatures and characters live at the piano. Spread your wings as a swan, cast a magical spell as a fairy, waltz with the flowers, and more. Dance props for audience participation will be provided. Costumes are welcome. Includes interactive pop-ups and sensory-friendly haptic tactile touch tables for all ages and abilities.
