Ballet Style Around the World
Although founded in the European courts, ballet has now spread around the world. This year, Ballet Insights dives into the question of national style: how did ballet spread across the globe? Why did it take off in certain places? What’s the difference between dancing in Europe vs in the United States? And what do we mean when we talk about different training and different styles? Each class will include a short lecture followed by a demonstration and a panel discussion with SF Ballet dancers and SF Ballet School faculty.
