The SF Ballet DISC residency program introduces ballet and world dance in a hands-on and dynamic way that enables K-12 students to learn about dance, music, and world arts and culture. Dance provides students opportunities to develop many skills that are fundamentally important, such as creative expression, listening skills, problem solving, coordination, and collaboration. During the dance residency, students will expand their vocabulary and enhance their expressive communication skills while learning about dance traditions from other cultures around the world. In addition to participating in the in-school residency, students also have an opportunity to attend a SF Ballet Student Matinee in the War Memorial Opera House to experience a performance by professional ballet dancers perform works from the SF Ballet repertoire.
