- Black Girl in OM
- The Motif Podcast
- On The Motif Podcast, host Shanetta McDonald interviews women of color about their unique experiences navigating the world. While the women McDonald interviews are often known for their professional successes, she emphasizes that she is more interested in learning about “their personal journeys, and how they got to where they are.” Though McDonald comes from a P.R. and sales background, she is a natural host, infusing each interview with compassion and curiosity.
- Happier with Gretchen Rubin podcast
- If anyone has the secret to happiness, it’s probably Gretchen. She’s written two bestselling books on the subject – The Happiness Project and Better Than Before. This supportive podcast offers practical tips to help you find happiness as well as tackling common worries, such as the dread of photo anxiety and how often we should visit family. Find Happier on iTunes, Spotify and Stitcher.
- Identity Politics
- Hosted by Ikhlas Saleem and Makkah Ali, Identity Politics examines what it means to be a Muslim person living at the intersection of multiple identities. While in the past, Saleem and Ali held nuanced discussions on race, gender, pop culture, food, politics, and more—all filtered through the lens of millennial Muslim life—recent episodes have turned an eye toward topics related to healing and self-preservation.
- The Couragemakers podcast

- Owning It
- Ireland is brimming with podcasts at the moment and one of the most exciting new entries is author Caroline Foran and her anxiety podcast, Owning It. Following on from the success of her self-help books; Owning It: Your Bullsh*t-Free Guide to Living with Anxiety and The Confidence Kit: Your Bullsh*t-Free Guide to Owning Your Fear, the Irish woman is bringing practical and relaxed advice to the masses as she talks through why anxiety happens, how to deal with it and, eventually, own it.
- Sleep With Me
- We know, we know. We’re supposed to get eight hours sleep each night. We’re also supposed to stick to a regular sleep-and-wake routine too. But sometimes that’s easier said than done, especially if your mind is in overdrive. This twice-weekly podcast is just the antidote for insomniacs looking to quieten the internal whirring. They’re basically a collection of ‘silly bedtime stories for adults’, which are designed to distract you from whatever is keeping you awake at night. Ingeniously ambling, and told in creator Drew Ackerman’s drawling voice, we challenge you to make it through to the end without dozing off. You’ll be snoring in no time.
- Nothin Much Happens: Bedtime Stories to Help you Sleep
- Having trouble sleeping? Join Yoga and meditation teacher Kathryn Nicolai for bedtime stories where nothing much happens to help you relax and sleep peacefully. The stories are a soft landing spot for your mind. Rather than letting your brain race through the same thoughts you’ve been chasing all day, we are taking a detour to a calm and comfy place. We tell the story twice and go a bit slower the second time.
- Balanced Black Girl
- Although Lestraundra “Les” Alfred started her career as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, the host of Balanced Black Girl believes that physical health is only the tip of the self-care iceberg. On her popular podcast, Alfred places equal emphasis on mental, spiritual, and emotional health, offering approachable and intentional ways for her listeners to feel their best, and lead more fulfilling lives. Her commitment to holistic healing is evident in the breadth of her episodes: joined by other Black women wellness experts, Alfred has discussed topics including setting healthy boundaries, coping with racial trauma, healing through breathwork, honoring spiritual evolution, overcoming imposter syndrome, and has even offered guided journaling and meditation for listeners.
- Ted Talks: Health
- Smart-thinking platform TED has long been the go-to destination for easy-to-digest knowledge, the kind of knowledge you can later use to impress your friends at the dinner table. But did you know there’s a whole podcast dedicated to its best health and well-being lectures? A diverse network of doctors and researchers share their discoveries about the world of medical science, across topics ranging from mental health support for refugees, to what hospitals of the future might look like. With hundreds of hours of insightful audio on tap, this is the perfect podcast to zone out to on the treadmill while you hit those hard miles.
