It was a fabulous festival weekend as SF Ballet dancers performed locally at Festival Napa Valley (July 27) and Stern Grove Festival (July 29). The weekend kicked off with the annual Dede Wilsey Dance Gala in Napa Valley. On the program were two pieces from our recent Unbound festival of new works— a pas de deux from Edwaard Liang’s The Infinite Ocean and Trey McIntyre’s Your Flesh Shall Be a Great Poem—as well as Jerome Robbins’ In the Night, George Balanchine’s Tarantella, and the Act III pas de deux from Don Quixote. On Sunday, the Company returned to Stern Grove for SF Ballet’s annual free performance among the redwoods, performing Balanchine’s Serenade and Tarantella, a pas de deux from The Infinite Ocean, the Act III pas de deux from Don Quixote, and Justin Peck’s Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes. Scroll down for highlights from our festival weekend:

It was a typical chilly July day in San Francisco, so dancers bundled up to stay warm at Stern Grove.
