San Francisco Ballet Board of Trustees Elects Sunnie Evers and Robert G. Shaw as Incoming Co-Chairs

SAN FRANCISCO, Thursday, June 27, 2019San Francisco Ballet Board of Trustees has elected Sunnie Evers and Robert G. Shaw as the organization’s next Co-Chairs of the Board, effective July 1, 2019. Evers, an art historian specializing in Italian Renaissance art, has a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. A member of SF Ballet Board of Trustees since 1990, Sunnie Evers was Chair of Development Committee from 2003­–2007 and Chair of School Committee from 2012­–2019. Evers has also served on the board of Save Venice, Miss Porter’s School, and Narrative Magazine, and was previously affiliated with the boards of Humanities West, Modern Art Council, Fine Arts Museums, and UC Berkeley Documents Collection. Robert G. Shaw is a Managing Director in the Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory group at Citi and has been on the SF Ballet Board of Trustees since 2016, co-chairing the Finance Committee. Robert G. Shaw has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

SF Ballet’s current Chair of the Board, Carl F. Pascarella, will serve a one-year term as President and Immediate Past Chair of the Board beginning July 1, after a three-year term as Chair. Pascarella will assume the role of Immediate Past Chair during the second and third years of Shaw and Evers’ co-chairmanship.

About Sunnie Evers
Sunnie Evers is an art historian specializing in the art and architecture of sixteenth century Venice, and more specifically in the art of Paolo Veronese. She has presented papers on topics ranging from the Villa Barbaro at Maser, the Church of San Sebastiano in Venice, and Visualizing Love in the Renaissance. Over the years she has taught Renaissance culture and art at Berkeley, Stanford, and Convent of the Sacred Heart High School. Currently she is preparing a class for the Fromm Institute on After Raphael: Counter Reformation Rome and Beyond. She is affiliated with the College Arts Association, The Renaissance Society of America, and Sixteenth Century Studies. Sunnie also serves on the board of San Francisco Girls’ School, a new all girl’s high school to open in 2021.

She holds a B.A. from Smith College and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. She has three children: Austin, Philip, and Sonia, and two grandchildren.

About Robert G. Shaw
Robert G. Shaw is a Managing Director in the Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory group at Citi. He heads the Technology Corporate Banking group in North America. Previously, Bob worked at Bank of America for over 30 years. During this time, he held positions in Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Credit Administration, and Wealth Management. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

Bob and his wife, Diedre, have a daughter in San Francisco and a son in the Lake Tahoe area.
