Legacy Orchestra Composition Competition

The San Francisco Ballet Association, in partnership with the members of The San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, is proud to announce the second annual Legacy Orchestra Composition Competition. The competition inspires composers to create new works to propel orchestral music and ballet into the future.

The winner of the Legacy Orchestra Composition Competition will be awarded a $7,500 prize, along with opportunities for the composition to be performed. As part of our mission to develop new repertoire and support emerging composers, our goal is to help foster a 21st-century musical legacy that both engages and stimulates contemporary audiences with music that is as beloved and timeless as that of our most esteemed historical ballet composers.
