Born in Dana Point, California, Jennifer Stahl trained at Maria Lazar’s Classical Ballet Academy and San Francisco Ballet School prior to joining the Company in 2006.

Stahl created roles in Morris’ Joyride and Possokhov’s The Rite of Spring (principal). She has performed principal or featured roles in Tomasson’s Giselle (Myrtha), Nutcracker (Sugar Plum Fairy, Queen of the Snow, Arabian, French), The Sleeping Beauty (Fairy of Courage), and Swan Lake (Swan Maiden); Balanchine’s Agon (1st pas de trois), Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet (1st movement soloist), Coppélia (principal in War and Discord), The Four Temperaments, “Rubies” (principal), and Symphony in Three Movements (3rd pas de deux); Neumeier’s The Little Mermaid (Mermaid Sister); Nureyev’s Raymonda—Act III (1st solo); Page’s Guide to Strange Places; Possokhov’s Firebird (Firebird); Ratmansky’s Le Carnaval des Animaux (Swan and Jellyfish), From Foreign Lands (German principal), and Russian Seasons (Purple Woman); Robbins’ Glass Pieces (1st movement soloist) and In the Night (2nd pas de deux); Welch’s Naked (principal); Wheeldon’s Cinderella (Spirit of Winter/Fluidity and Russian Princess); and Zanella’s Underskin (principal). 

Also in her repertory are Bintley’s The Dance House; Cranko’s Onegin; Elo’s Double Evil; Fokine’s Petrouchka; Forsythe’s in the middle, somewhat elevated and The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude; Liang’s Symphonic Dances; Lifar’s Suite en Blanc; McGregor’s Borderlands; Morris’ Maelstrom and Sylvia; Possokhov’s Reflections; Robbins’ Opus 19/The Dreamer, and West Side Story Suite; and Wheeldon’s Carousel (A Dance) and Within the Golden Hour.

As a guest artist, Stahl danced the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker with Westside Ballet of Santa Monica in Santa Monica, California, in December 2013. She performed the pas de deux from Possokhov’s Diving into the Lilacs with Anthony Spaulding at the Ballett des Badischen Staatstheaters Gala in Karlsruhe, Germany, in June 2010.
