Named apprentice in 2012. Joined in 2013.

From San Francisco, Alexander Reneff-Olson received his training at City Ballet School and San Francisco Ballet School. Named an apprentice in 2012, he joined the Company in 2013.

Reneff-Olson has danced principal or featured roles in Tomasson’s Giselle (Hilarion) and Nutcracker (King of the Mice, Jack-in-the-Box, and Russian) Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote (Toreadors), and Caniparoli’s Tears.

His repertory includes Tomasson’s Romeo & Juliet; Balanchine’s Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet (4th movement), Scotch Symphony, Symphony in Three Movements, and excerpts from Theme and Variations; Caniparoli’s Lambarena; Cranko’s Onegin; Lifar’s Suite en Blanc; Neumeier’s The Little Mermaid; Nureyev’s Raymonda—Act III (Hungarian); Possokhov’s Firebird, The Rite of Spring, and Swimmer; Ratmansky’s Shostakovich Trilogy (Symphony #9 and Piano Concerto #1); Robbins’ Glass Pieces; and Wheeldon’s Cinderella (Winter, Tree Gnomes, Courtiers, and Spanish Cavalier).

Reneff-Olson danced in the 2015 film of Tomasson’s Romeo & Juliet as part of the inaugural season of Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance.
