Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Miranda Silveira trained in Barcelona, Spain, and at Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Mariemma in Madrid before being awarded a merit scholarship to San Francisco Ballet School in 2011. She participated in the Trainee Program for one year before being named an apprentice in 2013. She joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in 2014.
Silveira has performed featured roles in Tomasson’s Nutcracker (Spanish and French) and Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote (Kitri’s Friends).
Her repertory also includes Tomasson’s Caprice, Giselle, and Romeo & Juliet; Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Serenade, 4th movement and finale from Symphony in C, and excerpts from Theme and Variations; Caniparoli’s Lambarena; Lifar’s Suite en Blanc; Makarova’s (after Petipa) “The Kingdom of the Shades” from La Bayadère, Act II; Morris’ Maelstrom; Ratmansky’s Shostakovich Trilogy (Symphony #9 and Piano Concerto #1); Robbins’ Glass Pieces; Thatcher’s Manifesto; and Wheeldon’s Cinderella (Spring).
