Born in Morganton, North Carolina, Jeremy Rucker trained at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and San Francisco Ballet School. He was named an apprentice in 2007 and joined the Company in 2008.
Rucker has performed featured roles in Tomasson’s Swan Lake and Nutcracker (King of the Mice, Spanish, Russian, and Arabian), Christensen’s Filling Station (Gangster), MacMillan’s Winter Dreams, Possokhov’s Francesca da Rimini (Guardians of the Inferno), Taylor’s Changes, and Tudor’s Jardin aux Lilas.
His repertory includes Tomasson’s Giselle, Romeo & Juliet, The Sleeping Beauty, Criss-Cross, The Fifth Season, Le Quattro Stagioni, On a Theme of Paganini, and Trio; Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote; Balanchine’s Coppélia, “Diamonds,” Scotch Symphony, Stars and Stripes, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, and Theme and Variations; Cranko’s Onegin; Fokine’s Petrouchka; Forsythe’s Artifact Suite; Liang’s Symphonic Dances; Morris’ Beaux and Sandpaper Ballet; Neumeier’s The Little Mermaid; Nureyev’s Raymonda—Act III; Possokhov’s Firebird, Fusion, and RAkU; Ratmansky’s Le Carnaval des Animaux; Robbins’ Glass Pieces, The Concert, and West Side Story Suite; Taylor’s Company B; and Wheeldon’s Cinderella, Ghosts, Number Nine, Rush, and Within the Golden Hour.
As a guest artist, Rucker performed the pas de deux from Paquita with Kristina Lind at Dance Theater International in San Jose, California, in 2011. He participated in the SF Ballet School Trainee Program in 2006–2007.
