Ana Sophia Scheller danced principal roles in Tomasson’s Nutcracker (Sugar Plum Fairy and Grand Pas de Deux Ballerina), On a Theme of Paganini, and The Sleeping Beauty (Aurora); the 3rd act pas de deux from Tomasson/Possokhov’s Don Quixote; the pas de deux from Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes; and Robbins’ Opus 19/The Dreamer. She created a role in King’s The Collective Agreement.
Elsewhere, Ana danced principal or featured roles in Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Hyppolyta) and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® (Sugarplum Fairy and Dewdrop) and Martins’ The Sleeping Beauty (Aurora and Princess Florine) and Swan Lake. She created featured roles in Barak’s A Simple Symphony, Elo’s Slice to Sharp, and Martins’ Bal de Couture and corps de ballet roles in Bigonzetti’s Luce Nascosta, Martins’ Chichester Psalms, and Wheeldon’s Les Carillons and Evenfall.
Ana’s repertory includes d’Amboise’s Tribute; Balanchine’s Apollo, Ballo della Regina, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, Cortège Hongrois, Divertimento No. 15, Emeralds, The Four Temperaments, Raymonda Variations, La Sonnambula, La Source, Symphony in C, Symphony in Three Movements, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2, Tchaikovsky Suite No. 3, La Valse, Vienna Waltzes, Walpurgisnacht Ballet, and Who Cares?; Martins’ A Fool for You; Ratmansky’s Concerto DSCH; Robbins’ 2 & 3 Part Inventions and Interplay; and Wheeldon’s DGV: Danse à Grande Vitesse and Estancia.
She received the Mae L. Wien Award for Outstanding Promise in 2003 and scholarships for three consecutive years as part of Argentina’s National Presidential Prize for Cultural Excellence in Classical Dance.
