Scarlett’s Fearful Symmetries Receives an “Izzy” Award

At the 31st annual Isadora Duncan Dance Awards on March 27, Liam Scarlett’s Fearful Symmetries was recognized for outstanding achievement in choreography, tied for the honor with Montalvo’s Pent which was performed by Dance Theatre of San Francisco. Retired SF Ballet Principal Dancers Joan Boada, Pascal Molat, and Gennadi Nedvigin were also recognized as sustained achievement honorees, along with three others from the local dance community. Ballet Master Ricardo Bustamante accepted the awards on the artists’ behalf.

The Isadora Duncan Dance Awards are awarded annually to dancers, choreographers, designers, composers, companies, and scholars who have made contributions to the San Francisco Bay Area dance scene. For more information about 2017 nominees and winners, visit
