Black Iris Project at Kennedy Center

Black Iris Project at Kennedy Center

Corps de Ballet member Kimberly Marie Olivier is performing with Black Iris Project from April 19-21 at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as part of a program curated by Misty Copeland. Following performances by Nashville Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Black Iris Project will close the evening with a work about Nelson Mandela, Madiba, choreographed by Black Iris Project Artistic Director Jeremy McQueen. The engagement is also the group’s Kennedy Center debut.

Black Iris Project is a New York City-based collaborative founded in 2016 by McQueen to celebrate diversity and Black history in ballet, and the project is comprised of predominantly minority artists. For more information, visit blackirisproject.org
