Childrens Enchantment Fund

Share the joy of Nutcracker with families in need!

Created in 1992, San Francisco Ballet’s Children’s Enchantment fund (CHEF) is designed to provide underserved children and families the opportunity to see San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker free of charge. For many of these individuals, CHEF offers both a first trip to the War Memorial Opera House and a rare opportunity to see a live dance performance. San Francisco Ballet partners with Community Access Ticket Services (CATS) to identify families served by over 100 social service agencies throughout the Bay Area.

The Children’s Enchantment Fund is one of San Francisco Ballet’s most important community outreach programs. Since 1992, the Children’s Enchantment Fund has enabled over 27,000 underserved children and their families to attend San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker at no cost. This has been made possible by the generosity of individual ballet trustees and patrons as well as The Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation and corporations including Wells Fargo and PG&E.
