There are a few minimum requirements for elementary schools that wish to host a Dance in Schools and Communities Residency:

• All participating schools must be public schools managed by the San Francisco Unified School District. 
• Schools must have a large, clean, well-lighted, unobstructed gym, activity room, or auditorium to conduct residency classes. 
• School principals and teachers are expected to actively support the program, designating a primary contact person for all communications. 
  

Classroom teachers whose students participate in the DISC program are strongly encouraged to participate in specially designed Teacher Workshop to institute strategies of arts integration and correlation. Additionally, teachers should be prepared to implement at least one classroom assignment based on residency activities. These activities may be based on any subject area, including language arts, geography, math, health/sciences, or social studies.
