Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Courtney Elizabeth trained at Charlotte School of Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre, and San Francisco Ballet School. She was named apprentice in 2002, joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet the following year, and was promoted to soloist in 2011. Elizabeth has performed a variety of featured roles including the Sugar Plum Fairy, Spanish, and Mirliton in Tomasson’s Nutcracker; Gold Fairy and pas de six in Tomasson’s The Sleeping Beauty; and Princess, Spanish, and Lead Czardas in Tomasson’s Swan Lake. She created roles in works such as Caniparoli’s Ibsen’s House and Jenkins’ Thread. Elizabeth’s repertory also includes lead roles in a diverse array of works, including Ashton’s Symphonic Variations; Caniparoli’s Connotations; Christensen’s Jinx; Forsythe’s in the middle, somewhat elevated; Lubovitch’s Elemental Brubeck; Morris’ Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes and Pacific; Ratmansky’s Le Carnaval des Animaux and Russian Seasons; Taylor’s Changes and Company B; Tomasson’s Trio; and Zanella’s Underskin.
