Born in Santiago, Chile, Sebastian Vinet trained at Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy and Escuela de Ballet Teatro Municipal. He danced with Houston Ballet II and Ballet de Santiago prior to joining the Company in 2010. Vinet’s repertory includes Tomasson’s Giselle, Nutcracker, Prism, and Trio; Balanchine’s Coppélia and Symphony in C; Neumeier’s The Little Mermaid; Fokine’s Petrouchka; MacMillan’s Winter Dreams; and Wheeldon’s Number Nine. Throughout his career, he has also performed works by August Bournonville, Ben Stevenson, and Stanton Welch, among others. In 2009, Vinet was honored as a finalist and winner of the Apprenticeship Award in the Prix de Lausanne International Competition.
