Auditions
Admission to San Francisco Ballet School is by audition only. Every January and February, the School holds a National Audition Tour. Auditions are open to male and female students, ages 13-18, who have achieved intermediate or advanced levels of ballet training. Intermediate/Advanced students seeking admittance to the year-round program are encouraged to audition for and attend the summer session.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the audition time for registration. There is no pre-registration. The audition is similar to a typical ballet class. Girls should be prepared to dance on pointe. Girls 15 and older will be required to be on pointe for the entire audition.
What to bring:
Applicants will be notified of audition results via e-mail within one week of their audition. Students who are accepted will receive instructions for securing their place in the program.

DVD Auditions
Students who live outside a 200-mile radius of any audition tour city may audition by DVD (videotapes are no longer accepted).
DVD auditions will be accepted January 1- February 20, 2010. Complete DVD audition materials must be received by February 20 in order to be considered. Please fill out the downloadable DVD Audition Form to be mailed in along with your audition materials and the $50.00 application fee (credit card or money order only).
All DVD audition applicants will be notified of audition results after March 1, 2010.
