The San Francisco Ballet School is housed in the same building as the San Francisco Ballet Company. Located in the Civic Center area of San Francisco, the facility has easy access to public transportation, the War Memorial Opera House, the Herbst Theater, the Performing Arts Library and Museum, The San Francisco Main Library, Davies Symphony Hall, and the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. The building is also located near the Hayes Valley neighborhood, which is famous for its restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and boutiques.
The School occupies the second floor of the building. The facility includes locker rooms for boys and girls, showers, and six studios. Students are encouraged to watch company classes and rehearsals in the building, which offers exposure to the life of a professional ballet dancer.
The second floor also houses the School Administrative Offices and the Willam Christensen Library. The Library hosts a large collection of dance-related literature and reference materials, as well as an extensive video library. Computers with Internet access and video monitors are also available to students.
