2008-2009 School Year

WHEN:		Saturday, May 17, 2008
WHO:		Girls and Boys ages 7 ½– 10 (by June 30) with or without previous ballet training, and students ages 11 – 18 with previous training.* The ideal candidate is a healthy child with a physique possessing attributes that are generally considered requisite for professional accomplishment in classical ballet; a straight and supple spine, legs that are well turned out from the hip joints and correctly arched feet. The child should have an ear for music and an instinct for movement. All students are accepted on a trial basis.

TIME:		Girls & Boys Ages 13 – 18 (with previous training)	11:00am Register 11:30am Audition class
		Girls & Boys Ages 11 –12 (with previous training)	12:00pm Register 12:30pm Audition class
		Girls & Boys Ages 7½ –10 (with or without previous training)	Auditions begin at 1:30pm. Applicants will audition in small groups. Please call the School Office 415.553.4642 to schedule an audition time.
WHAT TO WEAR:		Girls: leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Boys: T-shirt, tights and ballet slippers. If you do not have ballet clothing, please wear a t-shirt, shorts and socks.
WHAT TO BRING:		Proof of applicant’s age: copy of birth certificate, state issued ID, or passport. Passport-sized headshot or small school picture. Girls: if you are on pointe, bring your pointe shoes. There is no fee for this audition.

PRE- BALLET PROGRAM: Girls and boys ages 6 and 7 are eligible to sign up for our Pre-Ballet classes. No audition is required, but class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for the 2008–2009 School Year will be available in the spring. *These auditions are for Bay Area residents or those already planning to move to the Bay Area by August 2008. The School prefers that intermediate/advanced students from outside the Bay Area attend the School’s Summer Session.  During the Summer Session, select students are invited to attend the school year program. Summer Session auditions are held nationally in January and February.
